    What is CSAM?

Government authorities are providing more and more online services for citizens and companies. Communication with the government is also highly digitised these days: many things many things can be handled online via the various websites and internet services.

    Many advantages...

This offers many advantages, for both citizens and companies - as well as for the government authorities themselves. Administrative paperwork is significantly reduced, and handling requests and transactions goes much faster, thus ensuring less frustration for everyone.

However, a number of important conditions are associated with the user-friendliness of online services. For example, it's important to know the identity of the users (identification) and check it carefully (authentication). One must also precisely define which services or data a specific user may receive access to (authorisation).

    ...in a secure environment

Thanks to CSAM, all of these processes take place securely and reliably. CSAM offers a general solution for all aspects of identity and access management for online government services. That's why increasing numbers of government authorities are using this system to provide secure access to their online services.

The services that CSAM offers are:

    • FAS: "Federal Authentication Service" handles the identification and authentication of users.
    • BTB: "Beheer ToegangsBeheerders" is a service for managing access managers within a company or organisation.
    • SSM: "Self Service Mandates" is a service for managing mandates that a user gives to another entity in order to act on his or her behalf.
